During the Covid-19 pandemic last year, Sonja finished her first author album in lock down. Together with music producer STENIK, they created an entire album – without of meeting each other. The album has two parts – “Dive In Deep” and “Gilded Butterflies”. The first song from the album that has been released is “No More Corona”.

„the Workers Song – Medifuck“ is a song that Sonja wrote in year 2017. The song is a parody that criticizes corporate world, managers and the way they treat employees. She wanted to draw the attention on how everyday harassment at the work place can cause serious health and mental issues. The song “Poslije tebe” (After You) is the first published song written by Sonja Schmitz. She sings about disappointed childhood love and her perspective on it many years later. The video was recorded in November 2010 in Tuzla (Bosnia) and published in Bosnia. Film locations were a nature resort close to the city Tuzla and apartment of a well-known theater actress. The video was made by Vizart Production. Producer Damir Piric and art-director Samir Neimarlija made this dream come true with a lot of love and faith in Sonja. Sonja Schmitz is proud of this video because it is a proof that even in a small country and without budget everything is possible if there is a good will and commitment.

At the age of five, Sonja Schmitz passed her entrance exam for classical elementary music school in Tuzla. At the age of nine she already started performing classical music on piano. International competitions followed at the age of ten, directly after the Bosnian war. Originally, Sonja Schmitz wanted to study classical music and piano. The video shown here is from the International Classical Piano Competition 1998 in Stressa, Italy. She won the third place.
